ARC Electric Company recently partnered with CurrentSAFE to bring a new type of home electrical testing to our area. CurrentSAFE is the most comprehensive diagnosis of your homes electrical system on the market today! ARC Electric recently sent several staff members to Pittsburgh, PA to become CurrentSAFE certified. Our staff completed a weeks worth of training and were led by CurrentSAFE management and the Founder, Kevin Dickey! ARC Electric Company’s staff has in classroom knowledge and on-site experience with CurrentSAFE, its programming and electrical fire safety. Who better to learn from than the professionals who helped start this program many years ago. Before opening up and offering to the Charlotte and surrounding cities our staff used several real homes to perform an EHD test. While performing these test all staff members received additional hands on training with the Electrical Hazard Dectection software and equipment.

Many have asked us why? Our simple and honest answer can only be, to give our homeowners a peace of mind!

In 2011, according to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), home electrical fires in North America claimed the lives of 455 people and injured atleast 1,518 others. Some of these fires were caused by electrical system failures, but many more are caused by incorrectly installed wiring, overloaded circuits and extension cords. During 2011, these home electrical problems accounted for over 47,820 fires and almost $1.5 billion in property losses.*

ARC Electric Company is on a mission!

We recently partnered with the Matthews Help Center in Matthews, NC to donate to their Bounceback Backpack Program. This program we have opened up to all our employees and have gotten a great response. Every month we donate one weeks worth of meals to feed children in need. We typically need to fill 65 backpacks.

“Many children will be receiving free or reduced breakfasts and lunches at school, but will have no food on the weekends. With your help, Matthews HELP Center will provide food for 60 identified children at three local elementary schools. The BounceBack Backpack program provides healthy, kid-friendly, non-perishable food every weekend throughout the school year. This food will not only supplement a hungry child’s diet, but may also ease anxieties, improve attention span, and increase academic performance. It is very difficult for children to concentrate in school when concerned about their next meal. In order to provide food for 60 children every Friday, we need your support. Will you help feed a hungry child? Opportunities can include “adopt a weekend” or monetary donations.

Please contact Kelly Trott, Social Worker, by email at kelly@matthewshelpcenter.org or by phone at 704-847-8383, ext. 231, to find out how you can help. Thank you in advance for YOUR support which allows Matthews HELP Center to serve the needs of this community!”
