Polar Vortex….Preparedness?

Are you prepared for a natural disaster? Polar Vortex? Tons of snow and ice, causing a power outage? Do you have a KOHLER home generator backing your home up?

“The polar vortex is not a recently discovered phenomenon; in fact, it has been talked about in the meteorological world for decades,” AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said. A polar vortex is a large pocket of very cold air, typically the coldest air in the Northern Hemisphere, which sits over the polar region during the winter season. The frigid air can find its way into the United States when the polar vortex is pushed farther south, occasionally reaching southern Canada and the northern Plains, Midwest and northeastern portions of the United States. This year, predictions say it will be worse than last year, but I always say no one really knows but the big man upstairs.

Whatever the natural disaster may be, you have to stay prepared! So, that means installing a whole home generator; it takes all the worry away! Whole home KOHLER generators start up instantly, usually within seconds of an outage, and provide worry-free emergency power to support your homes electrical needs for days, possibly even weeks. Generators are a clean and quiet, automatic backup power, just what your family needs to be safe and comfortable.

We offer free proposal on installing a new generator at your home or business. We will meet with you, learn your needs, and design a system that best meets your objectives. Call us to schedule your appointment today! (704) 821-7005.

Below are some Thanksgiving facts! Some of these I didn’t know! (Obviously, I added in my own commentary)

The first Thanksgiving celebration lasted three days
– Could you imagine eating ALL that yummy food for 3 days? I would need a 3 day work out afterwards!

Mashed Potatoes, Pumpkin Pies, Popcorn, Milk, Corn on the Cob, and Cranberries were not foods present on the first Thanksgiving’s feast table

Lobster, Rabbit, Chicken, Fish, Squashes, Beans, Chestnuts, Hickory Nuts, Onions, Leeks, Dried Fruits, Maple Syrup and Honey, Radishes, Cabbage, Carrots, Eggs, and Goat Cheese are thought to have made up the first Thanksgiving feast
– I am thinking I want this for my Thanksgiving meal – I’ll forgo the Turkey in a heartbeat for some Lobster and Goat Cheese.

The pilgrims didn’t use forks; they ate with spoons, knives, and their fingers
– My son WOULD be all over this! Thankfully we have silverware now-a-days.

Sarah Josepha Hale, an American magazine editor, persuaded Abraham Lincoln to declare Thanksgiving a national holiday. She is also the author of the popular nursery rhyme “Mary Had a Little Lamb”
– Thank goodness for her; we now get a full day to give thanks and be with our families!

The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tradition began in the 1920’s.
– FAVORITE part of the day! (Of course, after family time and food)

In the US, about 280 million turkeys are sold for the Thanksgiving celebrations.

Although, Thanksgiving is widely considered an American holiday, it is also celebrated on the second Monday in October in Canada.

Turkeys have heart attacks. The United States Air Force was doing test runs and breaking the sound barrier. Nearby turkeys dropped dead with heart attacks.
– I think I would drop dead too! Poor fellas!

Don’t Be Stuck Without Power….Get a KOHLER Generator!

KOHLER has a great reputation and carry phenomenal products with a great warranty; which we LOVE companies who trust there product that much to warranty it for 5 years. KOHLER has been in our homes since 1873! It started in our bathrooms and expanding to all rooms of our homes!

Don’t get caught this winter without a generator! A standby home generator keeps your power on during an outage. It’s installed outside your house (like an AC unit) and comes on automatically — whether you’re home or away. All within seconds of a power outage. Plus home generators run on propane or natural gas, so there’s no refueling!

Bucket Truck Fun

A few months ago we acquired a bucket truck to help us become more readily available at a moments notice. Well, this past week Chris and Mike got to take the bucket truck out for some fun with a local Union County, NC school. Union County Early College asked us to drop the golf balls for them. They held a fundraiser, sold off golf balls and the winner walked away with a few thousand dollars. Chris and Mike enjoyed getting out of the office and having a little fun! We were glad to help!
