It’s Christmas Time….

I love Christmas time, I love teaching my son about this season and seeing him to realize it’s more than presents – it’s about the birth of Jesus! Recently, my rambunctious 4 year old was a “wise man” in my church Christmas play – he took his part very seriously and enjoyed taking “Baby Jesus” his gift. For any parent, seeing Christmas through your child’s eyes is magical.

In case you haven’t gone to see Santa – check out our Facebook post about Bass Pro Shop’s Santa in Concord Mills Mall and get your picture taken for free. Check Out Our Facebook Page to Read More

Also, check out lights in our area – they are spectacular. Check out Charlotte on the Cheap’s Christmas Light list by Clicking Here. Personally, I have seen the Lake Park Lights for the second year and I love it! The homeowners are very hospitable, offering up candy canes and glow sticks for the kids(and blankets to those sitting out on the side walks for a better look) and ask for donations for the Christmas Bureau – which always warms my heart. The theme changes yearly and this year a popular sitcom’s theme song was re-worked with new Christmas lyrics. Quite neat! Of course, all the music and lights coordinate and is approved by a 4 year old who sat through 2 shows.

Please keep in mind this Christmas, ARC Electric Company will be closed Wednesday – Friday and re-open on Monday, December 29th at 8 am. Our office staff and technicians will enjoy this wonderful time of year at home with their families. As always, our phone lines will be answered by an on-call technician if there is an emergency.

Also, keep in mind, we will be closed Thursday, December 31st and Friday, January 1st. We will re-open the following Monday at 8 am.

Lights Flickering? Switches Control Nothing? Just Not Sure….

Are you a homeowner who has lights that flicker periodically? Or have switches on your wall that control nothing? Or maybe, your not sure who did your electrical wiring?

Have you considered having an Electrical Hazard Detection (EHD) test done? We offer CurrentSAFE and this EHD test sounds like it could benefit you immensely! CurrentSAFE is the most comprehensive diagnosis of your homes electrical system! ARC Electric Company’s specially trained CurrentSAFE Technician can locate concealed electrical problems by providing this revolutionary electrical testing on residential properties without having to dismantle, damage or cut into any parts of the home. CurrentSAFE’s unique testing process ensures the electrical safety of a home along with reducing the risk of fire or electric shock by exposing any potential hazards that can and should be corrected.

Did you know that there is a residential electrical fire in North America every 6 minutes?

CurrentSAFE is a non-destructive method of testing your homes electrical problems before they become an emergency. In 2012, electrical fires in our homes claimed the lives of 622 North Americans and injured more than 1,500 others.* There are 248 fires a day! There is no other hazard detection service or electrical testing process available to homeowners like CurrentSAFE. ARC Electric Company is the only certified service representative in the Charlotte and surrounding areas in North Carolina.

Once a certified CurrentSAFE electrician has completed testing of your home’s electrical system, you will be provided with an on-the-spot comprehensive, full color report. This computer generated testing procedure will specify risk factors that were discovered during the testing procedure including wiring and outlet problems, shock hazards and other electrical issues that pose a threat to your family’s safety. Some clients have said it is like having an MRI done of their home – it gives you a great peace of mind knowing your home is safe.**

Help reduce your Home’s Fire Risk this Holiday Season

Wow, the holiday season is here. It seems to come quicker every year. This week as you celebrate Thanksgiving and kick off the holiday season, here are a few tips to keep you safe. With holiday traditions often including higher demands for electricity, your home’s electrical system will be getting quite the work out. Here are a few tips to keep you safe:

Plan accordingly. Before decorating, determine how many outlets are available and where they are located. Plan your displays accordingly.

Don’t overload. Avoid overloading electrical outlets with too many decorations or electrical devices. They can overheat and cause a fire.

LED Lights. Consider purchasing LED lights, which use less energy and run cooler than traditional incandescent lights

Just a few small changes can go a long way in keeping you and your family safe all without compromising your holiday. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Give thanks for the many blessings that surround you. And, if you need help with anything electrical, give us a call. We are happy to help.
