I love Christmas time, I love teaching my son about this season and seeing him to realize it’s more than presents – it’s about the birth of Jesus! Recently, my rambunctious 4 year old was a “wise man” in my church Christmas play – he took his part very seriously and enjoyed taking “Baby Jesus” his gift. For any parent, seeing Christmas through your child’s eyes is magical.

Also, check out lights in our area – they are spectacular. Check out Charlotte on the Cheap’s Christmas Light list by Clicking Here. Personally, I have seen the Lake Park Lights for the second year and I love it! The homeowners are very hospitable, offering up candy canes and glow sticks for the kids(and blankets to those sitting out on the side walks for a better look) and ask for donations for the Christmas Bureau – which always warms my heart. The theme changes yearly and this year a popular sitcom’s theme song was re-worked with new Christmas lyrics. Quite neat! Of course, all the music and lights coordinate and is approved by a 4 year old who sat through 2 shows.

Did you know that there is a residential electrical fire in North America every 6 minutes?
CurrentSAFE is a non-destructive method of testing your homes electrical problems before they become an emergency. In 2012, electrical fires in our homes claimed the lives of 622 North Americans and injured more than 1,500 others.* There are 248 fires a day! Once a certified CurrentSAFE electrician has completed testing of your home’s electrical system, you will be provided with an on-the-spot comprehensive, full color report. This computer generated testing procedure will specify risk factors that were discovered during the testing procedure including wiring and outlet problems, shock hazards and other electrical issues that pose a threat to your family’s safety. Some clients have said it is like having an MRI done of their home – it gives you a great peace of mind knowing your home is safe.**

Wow, the holiday season is here. It seems to come quicker every year. This week as you celebrate Thanksgiving and kick off the holiday season, here are a few tips to keep you safe. With holiday traditions often including higher demands for electricity, your home’s electrical system will be getting quite the work out. Here are a few tips to keep you safe:
Plan accordingly. Before decorating, determine how many outlets are available and where they are located. Plan your displays accordingly.
Don’t overload. Avoid overloading electrical outlets with too many decorations or electrical devices. They can overheat and cause a fire.
LED Lights. Consider purchasing LED lights, which use less energy and run cooler than traditional incandescent lights
Just a few small changes can go a long way in keeping you and your family safe all without compromising your holiday. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Give thanks for the many blessings that surround you. And, if you need help with anything electrical, give us a call. We are happy to help.
